The Pennsylvania Alliance for Security & Preparedness (PAASP) is a state-wide industry partnership that is a resource and forum for employers, employees and industry groups.
The purpose of the PAASP, which was begun in August 2006, is to bring together Pennsylvania's private industry leaders (supported by public sector agencies/organizations) and providers of training and workforce resources, for the development of security and preparedness professionals, exchange of information and sharing of resources for employers and professionals.
The mission of this industry partnership is supported by the PA Emergency Management Agency (PEMA), the Department of Homeland Security, county emergency management groups and scores of security & preparedness related professional associations. PAASP is a project of the Southwest Corner Workforce Investment Board in Pennsylvania.
There are more than 90 industry partnerships in Pennsylvania, most of which are regionally based. PAASP is one of only a few that are a state-wide partnership and which cross all industry sectors. PAASP can fund initiatives related to workforce development for employers across Pennsylvania. Typically the training funding is focused on employees working full-time in an occupational sector that we cover (see Occupations), who both live and work in PA.
